Indio Water is officially joining the City of Indio. As part of ongoing efforts to align operations and continue serving the needs of a growing community, the former Indio Water Authority is transitioning into the City of Indio’s Water Utility and Maintenance Department. While our organizational structure is evolving, our commitment remains the same—the same dedicated team continues to provide safe, reliable drinking water and exceptional service to the community every day.

Serving approximately 33 square miles and more than 26,000 service connections, Indio Water delivers billions of gallons of high-quality groundwater each year to homes and businesses throughout the city. As one of the fastest-growing communities in the Coachella Valley, we remain focused on ensuring a sustainable and reliable water supply for both today’s customers and future generations.

Our team operates and maintains a complex water system that includes 20 production wells, water treatment facilities, reservoirs, 348 miles of water mains, and more than 11,500 system valves. Through proactive maintenance, infrastructure investments, water conservation programs, and regional collaboration, we work every day to deliver safe, dependable water from the aquifer to your tap.

As Indio Water becomes part of the City of Indio, we remain committed to transparency and community engagement. Residents are encouraged to help shape the future of their local water utility by attending City Council meetings, held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the Indio City Council Chambers, 150 Civic Center Mall.
