CV Water Counts is excited to present the 11th year of Water Counts Academy, a free educational program designed for community leaders throughout the Coachella Valley who want to learn more about local water resources and how water is managed across the region.
Through presentations from local water professionals and a behind-the-scenes tour, participants will gain a better understanding of the people, systems, planning, and partnerships that help provide safe, reliable water throughout the Coachella Valley.
Although the final curriculum is subject to change, topics may include:
- Course Overview, Collaboration, and Governance
- Water Supply, Water Sources, and Planning
- Conservation Regulations
- Salton Sea Management
- Water Systems and Water Quality
- The Cost and Value of Water
- Financial Responsibility and Customer Support
- Conservation and Why It Matters
The 2027 Water Counts Academy will include a series of four evening educational sessions held in January and February, followed by a morning tour.
Applications are now being accepted. Space is limited, so interested participants are encouraged to apply early.
