August is National Water Quality Month, a time to recognize the importance of clean, safe drinking water and the role we all play in protecting this essential resource.

Reliable drinking water supports our health, strengthens our communities, and sustains agriculture. While water quality deserves our attention year-round, this month serves as a reminder that even small actions at home can help safeguard our water supplies for future generations.

Because our drinking water comes from limited natural sources, protecting those supplies is more important than ever. Ensuring high water quality is a shared responsibility involving federal laws such as the Safe Drinking Water Act and the Clean Water Act, environmental agencies, local water providers, and the communities they serve. Together, these partnerships help ensure the water delivered to our taps remains safe, reliable, and meets or exceeds all state and federal drinking water standards.

Across the Coachella Valley, local water agencies are committed to providing high-quality drinking water while keeping customers informed. Each year, by July 1, every public water agency publishes an Annual Water Quality Report, also known as a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR). This report provides valuable information about your drinking water source, the testing performed throughout the year, and how the results compare to state and federal drinking water standards.

If you haven’t already, we encourage you to review your water agency’s 2025 Annual Water Quality Report, available on your provider’s website, at the links below. It’s a great way to learn more about your drinking water and the extensive monitoring, testing, and treatment that help deliver safe, reliable water to your home every day.
