As part of Desert Garden Community Day, Saturday, October 27, CV Water Counts will lead a free session titled “Innovations in Irrigation.” The presentation will include experts discussing the latest technology from new generation nozzles to smart controllers that use real-time data from weather stations to know when to use more water or less. The presentation will also touch on emerging technology like apps that let you control watering from your smart phone.

The program will take place at 11 am in Room B118 at The UCR Palm Desert campus, located at 75-080 Frank Sinatra Drive.

Featured speakers include:

  • Alex Palacios, Branch Manager of Irrigation
  • Jason Lucas, Lead Water Management Specialist, Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD)
  • Mike Madewell, Technical Services/Sales Manager, Hunter Industries.

“We want to pull back the curtain on water efficient technology so people will understand how it functions, feel comfortable using it and ultimately invest in saving water,” notes Jason Lucas, spokesperson for CV Water Counts, and Lead Water Management Specialist, Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD).

The event is part of the free Desert Garden Community Day, presented by Desert Horticultural Society of the Coachella Valley, and co-hosted with UCR Palm Desert.
