This year’s Water Week is just around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited to take a deep dive into the world of water. It is during this time that water professionals from across the country travel to Washington D.C. and collaborate on ways to secure a more prosperous water future for everyone. We depend on these water representatives to advocate for the forward-thinking policies that will facilitate future access to safe, clean, reliable, and affordable drinking water.
While we can’t all jump on a plane to D.C., we can all make a difference. Get involved at home and in your community. Quick adjustments like reducing shower times, using a smart irrigation controller, checking for leaks, installing drought friendly landscapes, and using water efficient appliances can make a big difference. You can also reach out to your state and federal representatives to let them know how important water issues are to you. There are so many ways to contribute, so don’t be afraid to get out there and get involved during this year’s Water Week!
Remember, Water Week is all about coming together to learn, grow and share different perspectives on all things water. Coming together allows us to develop innovative solutions and better manage our water systems. We can’t do it without you, so please mark your calendars (April 23 – 29), set your alarms, and take the dive into this year’s Water Week!
