Desert Garden Community Day – Always Something For Everyone

Desert Garden Community Day – Always Something For Everyone

The Desert Horticultural Society of Coachella Valley hosted their 14th Annual Desert Garden Community Day on October 26. This free event was held at UCR Palm Desert, in collaboration with UCR and UC Master Gardeners, and featured clinics, demonstrations, exhibits, the UCCE Master Gardener Plant Sale, kids activities, food and more! CV Water Counts provided three clinics noted below, and the available presentations can be downloaded at the links below::

Ditch Your Lawn, with Katie Barrows of the California Native Plant Society, Riverside – San Bernardino Chapter, and Berlinda Blackburn from Coachella Water Authority (CWA).  Starting a native landscape doesn’t have to be complicated! These regional guides take the guesswork out of which plants to use where, and give you the tools you need to get started with your landscape project. Here is a link to the California Native Plant Society (CNPS) and planting guides.

Irrigation Tune-up Clinic with Jason Lucas from Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD)

Water Counts Academy – How To Get In and What You’ll Learn, with Ashley Metzger from Desert Water Agency (DWA)
