Just like that… it’s suddenly October! Someone has turned down the heat and Garden Day event is on the horizon!

This yearly event is organized by the Desert Horticultural Society and is FREE. Garden Day will take place on Saturday, October 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the UCR campus in Palm Desert (parking is free, too).

Right about now is when most desert dwellers are getting ready to dust off their spades, put some sunscreen on, and hit the garden for some fun under the sun. Garden Day is such a valuable resource because it gives locals the knowledge required to keep gardens lush and efficient.

The experts that this event taps into make this a game changer for both beginner and master gardeners. Whether you have budding questions about how to conserve water using desert landscaping or want to grow your compost game, Garden Day has you covered! Visitors can attend educational sessions on a wide variety of topics, and even visit with vendors to find deals on garden goods.

Our very own CV Water Counts will host a booth and have several water representatives available to answer questions and share information about money-saving incentives. Mark your calendars, bring your curiosity, and don’t forget your green thumb. See you there!
