Myoma Dunes Mutual Water Company (MDMWC) continues to provide clean and reliable drinking water to its customers, and has been for more than seven decades. MDMWC is a small mutual water company serving approximately 2,500 residents in Bermuda Dunes (an unincorporated area of Riverside County, formally called Myoma Dunes) since 1953 and later a portion of the La Quinta area since 2005. The community is served from five company owned water wells located within the same service area.
MDMWC was established in the mid-20th century by local residents of the area. Ernie Dunlevie was a key developer of the Bermuda Dunes Country Club, Bermuda Dunes Airport and Bermuda Dunes Racquet Club who eventually acquired Myoma Dunes Mutual Water Company to address the expanding water needs of the full community.
Over the years, the company has expanded to provide water services to a broad range of residential and commercial customers. The company has invested in modern infrastructure to ensure that its customers have access to clean and safe drinking water. Additionally, the company has implemented conservation measures to ensure that water resources are used efficiently and sustainably. Despite its growth, the company has remained true to its roots and continues to operate as a cooperative, with its members owning and operating the company through an appointed Board of Directors.
