Water is a precious resource every day, but especially in the Coachella Valley. So what should you do when you see something that you believe to be water waste? Here are some recommendations.
1) Let Them Know About It
Does your neighbor have a broken sprinkler head, resulting in water being wasted, running into the street? It’s possible they might not even know. Send them a respectful text message or leave a quick, nice note for them, alerting them of the situation.
2) Let Us Know About It
If you aren’t able to contact your neighbor directly – or just don’t feel comfortable doing so – each of our local Coachella Valley water agencies has a way for you to report what you believe might be water waste.
Here is a link to our local water agency’s reporting page:
- Coachella Water Authority
- Coachella Valley Water District
- Desert Water Agency
- Mission Springs Water District
- Myoma Dunes Water Company
- Indio Water Authority
Not sure who your water agency is? You can find your water agency here.
When reporting, be sure to let us know the following:
- Address of the possible water waste
- Time and day you saw it
- Include a photo, if you can
- Be sure to include relevant details about the incident
Remember, we’re all in this together. We appreciate you taking steps to conserve our precious resource in the Coachella Valley and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know if you suspect a potential issue.
Every drop counts!
