The Consumer Confidence Report Rule was first proposed February 1998? In its summary, EPA proposed to require community water systems to prepare and provide to their customers annual reports on the quality of the water delivered by the public systems. These reports would provide valuable information to consumers of tap water from community water systems and allow them to make personal health-based decisions regarding their drinking water consumption.
