The Water Counts Academy is designed for current and emerging leaders in the Coachella Valley who want to learn about the lifeblood of our valley — its water resources. We are excited to offer this comprehensive course that will cover the history, use and management of water here in the Coachella Valley.
Participants are required to attend all five classes to receive their certificate. The sessions cover a variety of topics and although subject to change, may include: Course Overview; The History of Water; Groundwater, Streams and Imported Water; Colorado River and Recycled Water; Water Quality and Regulations; The Drought; Conservation in the Coachella Valley – A Way of Life; Agriculture; Golf; Cannabis; Building & Development and Water Efficiency; and Sustainability and Groundwater.
The 2023 Water Counts Academy will be held virtually via Zoom once a week, from Noon to 1:30 p.m., over the course of 5 weeks: on Thursday, February 9, 16, 23, March 2, and March 9.
