As part of Desert Garden Community Day, Saturday, October 26, CV Water Counts will offer three clinics – all designed to help residents learn more about the various ways to conserve water.
- 10:15 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.: Ditch Your Lawn, with Katie Barrows of the California Native Plant Society, Riverside – San Bernardino Chapter, and Berlinda Blackburn, Environmental/Regulatory Programs Manager, Coachella Water Authority (CWA)
- 11:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.: Irrigation Tune-up Clinic with Jason Lucas, Lead Water Management Specialist, Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD)
- 12:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.: Water Counts Academy – How To Get In and What You’ll Learn, with Ashley Metzger, Outreach & Conservation Manager, Desert Water Agency (DWA)
“We want people to be aware of and to understand that there are many ways we can all conserve water,” said Xochitl Peña, Outreach Specialist at Desert Water Agency (DWA). “Desert Garden Community Day is an excellent opportunity to learn – with multiple clinics, demonstrations and exhibits, there’s sure to be something for everyone.”
This is a free event that is part of Desert Garden Community Day, presented by Desert Horticultural Society of the Coachella Valley. It is co-hosted with UCR Palm Desert, and is held at UCR Palm Desert Campus, at 75-080 Frank Sinatra Drive, Palm Desert.
