CV Water Counts is gearing up for the ninth course of the Water Counts Academy, designed for community leaders in the Coachella Valley who want to learn about local water resources.
This comprehensive course covers the different services and uses of water in the Coachella Valley. Students will also learn how local water agencies carefully manage this precious resource. Topics include local water resources, imported water, conservation, long-term water management planning, groundwater management, nonpotable and recycled water, water quality – and more!
The program will begin on January 28, 2025 at the University of California, Riverside – Palm Desert Campus, and include four in-person classes on Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The fifth and final class will be a half-day morning session on Saturday, March 1, that will include a facilities tour and certificate presentation. The application deadline is Friday, January 10, 2025.
